Claims and Appeals

The Arkansas Department of Veterans Affairs furnishes representation for veterans, widows and dependents by virtue of Power of Attorney made to one of the following:

American Ex-Prisoners of War, Inc. Fleet Reserve Association
The American Legion Jewish War Veterans
AMVETS Marine Corps League
Arkansas Department of Veterans' Affairs Veterans of Foreign Wars
Blinded Veterans Association Veterans of World War I of USA, Inc.

You may also contact your County Veterans Service Officer. We have officers in 75 counties who are trained and supervised by ADVA to serve the veterans, their dependents and survivors.

When requesting benefits and services, a copy of the veteran's discharge papers are required to verify eligibility. Our office has DD-214's going back to 1985. Veterans may also check their C-file. If you are unable to locate your DD-214 in local or state offices, you can request copies of your Military Personnel Records.
