ADVA Welcomes New State Veterans Cemetery Director

(North Little Rock) Senior Master Sergeant William “Bill” Wussick took the reins as Cemetery Director of the Arkansas State Veterans Cemetery in North Little Rock on July 6, 2009.  He comes to us from the Little Rock Air Force Base where he was the Support Flight Superintendent for the 19th Aircraft Maintenance Squadron.

Bill was born in Heidleburg, Germany, in May of 1962.  He graduated from Harrison High School in Colorado Springs, Colorado in 1981 and upon graduation, immediately entered active duty Air Force.

Bill was stationed at LRAFB off and on for the last 28 years.  He has served in positions such as Quality Manager, Chief Quality Assurance Representative, Aircraft Propulsion Advisor, Specialist Flight Chief, and Flight Safety Superintendent during his career.  His supervisory, customer service, and maintenance skills are all qualifications the Arkansas Department of Veterans Affairs sees as assets to successfully serving the veterans and their families.

Bill has been in the services community since 1988 as a civilian NAF employee working for the Club system while on active duty.  He has served as First Sergeant, Flight Superintendent, and Services Club Operations Manager taking care of members needs.  He brings his knowledge and abilities to ADVA to serve our nation’s veterans in a dedicated and respectful manner.  Of his service Bill says, “Most importantly I care about the needs of our veterans and have a vested interest in our community.”

He said his biggest goal “is to create awareness about the Veterans Cemetery and work with the community to fulfill the needs of our veterans.”
