U.S. Armed Forces Retired License Plate Now Lowered to $3.75,
Gold Star Family Plates Now Available
(Little Rock) The Department of Finance and Administration has reduced the price of the U.S. Armed Forces Retired License Plates to $3.75 from a regular base fee of $17.00 - 30.00. Plates can be issued to any Arkansas resident who is a retired member of the United States Army, Navy, Marine Corps, Air Force, Coast Guard, or National Guard.
Retired members of the armed forces will need to provide a copy of their retirement orders upon issuance. If applying for the first time by mail or internet, a one dollar ($1.00) additional fee will be applied. The plate can be renewed annually at a rate of $3.75. Applicants are limited to no more than one (1) plate.
Gold Star Family license plates, issued at no charge, are now in stock at most local Revenue Offices. These plates are available to spouses and parents of members of the armed forces of the United States, killed in a conflict recognized by the United States Department of Defense (DoD), and who have received a Gold Star Lapel Button issued by the DoD.
The applicant must present a copy of the Report of Casualty DD1300 form. In addition, the spouse must present a copy of a marriage certificate, or if parent, a copy of the birth certificate. No more than one (1) Gold Star Family license plate may be issued to an eligible applicant. Eligible applicant must be listed as owner or co-owner on the certificate of title of the motor vehicle to which the Gold Star Family plate will be issued.
The DFA is providing posters to Revenue Office locations throughout the state listing all available military and veteran license plates.
