Congressman Hill meets with ADVA leadership to discuss opportunities for veterans

Congressman French Hill, representing the 2nd District of Arkansas, met with leadership and staff from the Arkansas Department of Veterans Affairs (ADVA) on Monday, April 14, in Little Rock to discuss various opportunities for veterans in Arkansas.

Representative Hill serves as the Chairman of the House Financial Services Committee and is a member of the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence. Additionally, he participates in numerous U.S. Military and Foreign Relations Caucuses and others.

“Serving veterans has been a priority of mine for the decade I’ve served in the House. We’ve gotten $100 million back for veterans in earned benefits, and our top priority while we’re at home here in the state is to be sure that our veterans and our military families are taken care of,” Rep. Hill said. “It’s an honor to be here with the Arkansas Department of Veterans Affairs and see how we can partner,” Hill added.

Congressman Hill was greeted and briefed by ADVA staff members in an open-forum style meeting.

“I think the meeting went well. He is very interested in improving conditions for veterans in the State of Arkansas, and he has done a lot of work to reach those goals,” said Gina Chandler, Director of Veterans Services.

ADVA Secretary Robert Ator II discussed the unique opportunities available in Arkansas for all veterans, including service members departing from active duty, and thanked Congressman Hill for the work he has done in Washington, DC, on behalf of veterans.
